As we all know, the pandemic changed everybody’s way of life. We stay at home most of our time and it can get quite boring. Quarantine can seem like a very overwhelming period no matter if you are spending it with your family or you are just alone in a dorm. For that reason, we gathered some activities that you could try to feel less bored and switch up your routine.

1 - Journaling

Journaling is a concept when you write down all your thoughts and feelings down on paper. It can be a great way to release stress and anxiety. You can also write down your goals, future plans or what you’re grateful for. There are endless ideas to write down while journaling.

2 - Meditation

Meditation just like journaling can be a great way to release stress. Whether you use a meditation app, videos to help you, or even just flow with it the way you want it can be effective. It is recommended to do a session of meditation in the morning right after you wake up.

3 - Podcasts

Podcasts again, are exciting to listen to and sometimes can help you be productive. Whether you have a long hour ahead of you or just 5 minutes to spare, you can find podcasts of all lengths and kinds online. There are podcasts that can help you learn new languages, others can educate you about specific subjects, or just comedy if you want a good laugh.

4 - Stand-up comedy

If you really want to laugh like never before then stand-up comedy shows are for you. You can find them on Netflix, YouTube or other sites and most of them have subtitles. They can be a good way to pass time and make you even improve your sense of humor and learn some jokes.

5 - Cooking / Baking

Quarantine can be a good time to pick up some cooking or baking skills. And especially with Christmas coming up, this can be a good opportunity to learn some meals that you can cook during Christmas or some pastries that you can share with your neighbors.

6 - Reading books

Whether you want to learn about non fictional subjects such as philosophy or history, or you just want to travel in time while reading fictions like Harry Potter or The Alchemist then books are for you. There are thousands of free e-books that you can download on pdf or epub format online. The good thing about books is that they also help you improve your vocabulary while time passes so fast while reading them, so no more boredom!

7 - Workout

Quarantine can be a good opportunity to go over your fitness goals that you’ve been postponing. There are a lot of YouTube workout videos that can help you reach your goals. You don’t necessarily need equipment to work out and have fun. You can try some Zumba  dance or just some 15 min HIIT cardio and it can help you feel better for the rest of the day since working out releases stress and produces dopamine which is a hormone that makes you feel happier.
