You are with a group of friends hanging out in Sauletekio 39. Wednesday evening. Nothing else to do but wandering the halls. “Hey, Angelo, what if we organize any screening one day?” And that day never showed up. Till Yalin just said to himself: “okay, let’s do it”.
Yalin Gulbahar is a current full-time master student in Vilnius University. And he was the one who first pushed the project. “I had this one lecture International Campaign where I had to develop a project… so I told myself it was the perfect moment to develop the idea we had in the first semester”. Said and done. Human (2015) in Switch Baras? And it was a success.
“Movie-in” it’s just about hanging out with friends and friends of friends. A chill evening in the middle of the week where you can take a breath to relax. It’s just to meet to see a movie, and it can be in any pub or opened place. The main idea is people to continue organizing it, just like you can invite your friends to your home. But he doesn’t want to be an event-organizer every week; Yalin wants people to get involved: “what I would love is making people realize they have the opportunity to make something different in their daily lives” -points out.
That’s how it happened. After him, more people continued organizing it, and trying different places and movies. Normally they are non-mainstream movies, independent ones. This kind of films that touch something inside you. Old movies, documentaries… Whatever that leads you to think.
